Rains

I hadn’t had good rainy times at Chennai, as every resident would feel. Coimbatore used to get rains in December and it used to get really cold at nights and early mornings but used to be hot during the days. We, hostelites, used to have fun in the rain as we were staying very close to the terrace. The entire gang loved kuzhi paniyaram and veg-roll, which we used to get near the IMS. Though the route that led to the IMS was a bit scary, the destination and the outcome looked so yummy and tasty that it enabled us to move towards it.

Rains were a part of schedule at Trivandrum. I was at Trivandrum during the later part of the year, where we were experiencing all seasons in one day: Spring in the morning, summer in the noon, autumn in the evening and winter at nights. It used to be so nice to have hot spicy maggi with a cup of horlicks, in a small shop that was close to our ILP hostel. Every member of Zealots would have visited the shop at least once during our stay there. Though the shop looked unhygienic at the first sight, it had become our favorite place to hangout.

Yesterday night at 11:30 pm, after a long monotonous Sunday, I wasn’t feeling sleepy and I was busy gazing at the sky. I was lying down in my bed and dint miss out the clouds that were getting accumulated in the sky. I was pretty sure that it was going to pour down heavily in a few minutes. I removed the clothes that were hanging out for drying, during when I got a clear view of the entire sky. Unusually, it was bright pink in color with not even a single star visible. It looked so amazing..! Cool wind started blowing through the windows which were wide open in the room, as per my request. It just swept me off to the dream world and I must have dozed off within minutes, as I don’t remember anything else that happened after that..!

The climate was so good today morning too. I made it a point to take bath in normal tap water. I boiled milk, made some coffee for myself and sat to get ready, but couldn’t take my eyes off the sky which was still cloudy and was drizzling beautifully.

Nature is indeed beautiful, lovely, inspiring, attractive and magical..!
